Sunderland Marina receives £315,000 grant
I Love my work when I can support charity as well as the North East when working as a PR Photographer I get many such opportunities to use my experience and skill as a photographer to do just that. In this case it’s great to see NatWest getting behind our community and our region when the charity sector is suffering it’s chard of cuts.
A CHARITY has wind in its sails after securing more than £300,000 to expand facilities. Marine Activities Centre (MAC) is embarking on a £315,000 development project at its base in Sunderland Marina.
The organisation has secured the money thanks to NatWest and the regional Growth Fund’s, Let’s Grow scheme.
The MAC owns and operates Sunderland Marina through a trading subsidiary company. Any extra funds made by the commercial operation are used to support charitable activities, such as subsidised outdoor and adventure activities for schools, community groups, young people and other organisations.
Pat Murray, chief executive of the MAC, said the investment is aimed at securing long-term sustainability of the charity.
